So after being MIA for over 2 years, I’ve decided recently it was time to revisit blogging my work. I was still actively crafting these last 2 years if you follow my Instagram.
I’m so excited that my first post is for the My Favorite Things Superstar Card Contest! This is the first contest I have ever entered with my cards.
So here we go…although mine doesn’t compare to some of the cards that have been submitted, I’m very happy with the results of the cards I made. I’ve also included a couple cards I made using My Favorite Things Stamps, but unfortunately they do not qualify for the contest. Still I’m super excited to share it with you.
The first card I’m submitting is “Have a Monstrous FIRST Birthday.”
This card was inspired by MFT’s Monster Love Stamp Set.Within the stamp set is the sentiment “Have a Monstrous Birthday.” My little cousin is turning One in November so I thought I’d make him a card. During MFT’s Retirement Sale a month ago, I picked up some Die-Namics Alphabet Steel Dies so I was anxious to use them as the focal point of a card. In this card I used the High Rise Alpha Uppercase for the “FIRST.” This die set is no longer available on MFT’s site, but I did catch it on Simon Say’s Stamp still! Get it while you still can! I heat embossed the polka dots using the Friends Like Us Stamp Set followed by some lovely ink blending.
The second card I’m submitting is very similar in technique and style except I watercolored the front panel.
This time I used the High Rise Lower Case Alpha Die-Namics. Again, still using the Monster Love Stamp Set. I added some fun googly eyes as an accent to the Monsters (not sure if that disqualifies the card though).
The third card I’m submitting is made using the Happy Pandas Stamp Set. One of my favorites!
This was an interactive slider card I made using their Surf & Turf Die-Namics. Super fun and cute card. Make me smile each time!
So here are the following cards I also made during this time period using MFT products:
(PS: I definitely need to work on the lighting of my cards…)
So I hope you stay tuned for my future posted! And I wish everyone luck who’s participating this Superstart Card Contest! I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
