Update

Hi everyone!

I apologize for the lack of posts for the past week and a half…things have been a little crazy. I hope you all had a wonderful and fun Labor Day weekend. I know I sure did. I got to hang out with some good friends and my sister. It was nice and eventful I must say.

With that said, I wanted to update you guys on some of the projects I have been working on. I will continue with the Halloween Card Series very soon (I realized I was just a little early on making Halloween cards.

This was a mini card I made for my friend, Crystal, for her bridal shower. I was originally attaching it to her gift so I made this a 3×3″ card. Due to some last minute decisions on a gift, I ended up attaching a gift card to the front of the envelope. The envelope was also handcrafted using the Martha Stewart Scoring Board. I used some buttons and string to bind them together. I used Recollections Kraft Cardstock for both the envelope and the card. I managed to get my hands on the Basic Grey Indian Summer 6×6 Paper Pad from Joann’s about a month ago…I was super excited! The alpha stickers are also from Basic Grey (micro mono).
This card is definitely my favorite 8.5×11″ card I have ever made! I was inspired by the Sunny Spot Dear Lizzy Collection Paper by American Crafts. I love the cloud details in the card. I used the cloud stamp in the  Kite Tales stamp set by October Afternoon and used Basic Grey’s Lexicon Basics Paper from the Basics White 6×6 Paper Pad. The patterned paper I used for the background and “hills” effect were from an old Creative Memories paper pack. I also used the same collection of patterned paper to cut out the onesies. I used the onesie stamp from American Crafts Baby Stamp Set as a guide…I cut it a little bigger since the card was rather large. The mini clothes pins were favor charms I picked up from a local party supply store.

I needed to make a masculine birthday card for a friend of mine so I picked out some patterned papers from Cosmo Cricket’s Boyfriend Collection. I also had a border stamp set from Recollections that I picked up a while ago and it had the paper airplane border…I felt that it would coordinate well with the paper airplanes pattern in the Boyfriend Collection. I also cut out some of the air planes from the actual patterned paper and popped them up. I used a notebook border punch from EK Success that’s very similar to the Binding Punch. This was also done on a piece of kraft cardstock.

So that’s the update I have for you guys. The Halloween Card Series will be back in session shortly, so stay tuned!
